  • Green Music Center – concert hall run through its paces

  • June 23, 2009

Somoma State University’s Green Music Center scored big recently when the new concert hall was run through its paces. Located in the heart of California’s wine country, Music Director Bruno Ferrandis and a few musicians from the Santa Rosa Symphony gathered to play, and hundreds of subscribers, were given tours of the facility over a three-day period. (Press Democrat, April 23, 2009)

Although construction of the $110 million Center is not fully complete, the gesture on the part of the University allowed many to sample a small taste of what their community’s future holds. The 1,400 seat multi-purpose hall has the ability to “open” its back door to an outside lawn audience of 10,000.  Similar to the highly regarded Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood’s Music Center, in Lenox, MA; and Vienna’s Muskikverein, this shoe-box shaped room “performed” and signified its flexibility for future presentations. We look forward to opening day!

See what musicians and others are saying…
