Experience

Twenty-seven years experience in education as Teacher, Administrator, and Coordinator specializing in: alternative education, curriculum design, testing and evaluation, the development of specialized learning strategies and individual educational programs, process and design for educational reform and restructuring, and development of education and community partnerships.

In 2001, Rogene joined Kirkegaard Associates and put her skills to work alongside KA colleagues in client relations, marketing, human resource activities, and the evaluation and interpretation of sound in critical spaces. Applying her expertise in diagnostic listening, programming, process development, and quality assurance, she has added another dimension to the wide range of acoustics services KA provides to clients.

Her passion for life long learning and her understanding of the role arts play as catalyst for changing lives of young people–of all ages, inspire her to advocate for all arts—music, dance, theatre, and visual arts. She fully appreciates that ‘high tech’ needs to be balanced with ‘high touch’ in the planning of performance spaces.

The appreciation of the transformative power of the Performing Arts, in promoting understanding of ourselves and each other, provided Rogene the impetus to join with like minded colleagues in ISPA, the International Society for the Performing Arts. She has designed and coordinated ISPA Academy educational programs in Hong Kong, Brussels, Belgium, and Durban, South Africa. She is also a member of The League of American Orchestras.
