Experience
Mr. Sunga is a licensed architect with twenty years of experience in the architectural design and construction process. In his career before Kirkegaard, he worked on a wide range of projects ranging from high-rise residential construction to commercial renovations.
At Kirkegaard, Mr. Sunga is deeply involved in developing acoustic design concepts into practical, buildable solutions. During the course of a project, he reviews architectural progress and coordinates acoustic efforts across numerous building trades as informed by his years of experience. This work is then verified during construction during site inspections and final check-out efforts.
Major projects benefiting from his expertise include the new Strathmore Concert Hall, a new 1800-seat concert hall for the Baltimore Symphony with a secondary emphasis on dance productions. He is also deeply involved with the new Omaha Performing Arts Center in Lincoln Nebraska, a new 2000-seat multi-use concert hall for symphonic, pops, and chamber music. Also included in the project is the renovation of a 1928-vintage vaudeville house and a separate 450-seat Chamber Music Hall. Finally, he is working on the new Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center for Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, a cutting-edge interactive media facility featuring a 1200-seat performance hall, a 250-seat theatre/media space, and several multi-function media suites.
