Experience
Dennis has been a member of Kirkegaard Associates (KA) since 2002. He has a diverse background of experience in residential and commercial architecture, site planning, structural and electrical design. These areas involve new construction and renovations to numerous structures.
Dennis prefers a dedicated “hands-on” approach. At KA, he works on the systems design, conduit layout, and equipment layout for numerous projects. He enjoys the challenge of integrating the designed system into the project. In describing what he does to those unfamiliar with complex AV Systems, he tells them, “My design starts at the microphone and finishes with the loud speaker. It’s all those pieces that most people never see, that have to play well with others.”
His continuous goal is “To develop drawing sets that the AV Contractor can bid on and build from, and the client has the project that they wanted from the beginning.”
His project involvement includes: Chicago Botanic Garden – Education Center, Chicago, IL; Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies, Chicago, IL; Northwest Memorial – Prentice Women’s Hospital, Chicago, IL; Holland Performing Arts Center, Omaha, NE; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN; Conservatorio de Musica, Santuce, Puerto Rico; Strathmore Concert Hall, Rockville, MD; Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center, Troy, NY; Andrews University Performing Arts Center, Berrien Springs, MI; Tennessee Theater,, Knoxville, TN; Illinois Institute of Technology Campus Center, Chicago, IL; Olivet Nazarene University – Centennial Chapel, Bourbonnais, IL; St. John Catholic Church, St. John, IN; and numerous high school auditoriums, music and choir rehearsal rooms.
