Experience
Ms. Koo had worked as an Audio Technician at the Santa Fe Opera prior to joining Kirkegaard Associates in 2005. In 2003, she was a sound intern at the Williamstown Theater Festival. In 2002, she was a production assistant for the Korean Broadcasting System Company. Ms. Koo’s five years of theatrical production background includes Production Assistance, Sound Design & Engineering. Most recent production work includes Sound Designer of “A Man of No Importance”, “The Chinese Wall”, “Jazz Ensemble”, “Emerging Choreographers” and “Journey’s End” at the NC School of the Arts, and Sound Engineer of “Godspell” and “Chicago” at the Little Theater of Winston-Salem in NC. She also served as Sound Shop Manager at the NC School of the Arts.
Since joining Kirkegaard Associates, her project involvement includes EMPAC at The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy NY; The Flammer Center at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT; Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies in Chicago, IL; and Recital Hall at the Bowdoin College in Brunsweick; ME, University of Pennsylvania Music School, Philadelphia,PA; Chicago Public Schools, Chicago, IL; Holocaust Memorial Foundation of Illinois Museum, Skokie, IL.
Ms. Koo is a life long musician. Her extensive classical music training in piano performance provides the great stepping stone to understanding sound.
Ms. Koo is also a D.C. Hanes Scholar (2004-05), Chancellor’s Excellence Scholar (2004-05), Design & Production Dean Scholar (2003-05), a winner of Career Development Grant (2003-04), Nancy Reynolds Recruitment (2002-2005), P&M Brown Theater Endowment Fund (2002-03), Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society (2007-current), and InfoComm International Audiovisual Scholar (2007-2008).
