Description

The 183,000 square foot Newman Center is made up of seven structurally-isolated buildings containing Trevorrow Hall, home of the Lamont School of Music; Byron Theatre, a five-sided flexible space with seating for up to 350; and the 950-seat Gates Hall, a lyric theatre that is easily transformed into a concert hall; Hamilton Recital Hall with 225 seats and an organ by Karl Schuke; specialized rehearsal halls for large instrumental ensembles, jazz, and opera; a recording studio; a music library; faculty studios; and practice rooms, several of which are outfitted with electronic enhancement systems.
