  • Green Music Center – concert hall run through its paces
  • Somoma State University’s Green Music Center scored big recently when the new concert hall was run through its paces. Located in the heart of California’s wine country, Music Director Bruno Ferrandis and a few musicians from the Santa Rosa Symphony gathered to play, and hundreds of subscribers, were given tours of the facility over a three-day period.   • Harley-Davidson Museum bids all “Hog” lovers… ride
  • Earlier this month, motor-cycle giant Harley-Davidson celebrated the opening of the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI. Planned to coincide with its 105th Anniversary, a 20-acre tract of land now holds a 130,000 sq. ft. museum development with retail spaces, restaurant and café, special event and exhibition services.

  • Kirkegaard Associates completes Encore Park’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
  • Encore Park’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, operated by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO), opened this weekend with a rousting concert led by Maestro Robert Spano. The 12,000-seat venue sits amid 45 acres of land northwest of Atlanta in the City of Alpharetta and becomes one of two outdoor venues in the country to be managed simultaneously by an American orchestra.

  • Indiana University-Purdue University dedicates the new John and Ruth Rhinehart Music Center
  • Officials, alumni and students at Indiana University-Purdue University (IPFW) recently celebrated the official opening of the new John and Ruth Rhinehart Music Center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an evening concert featuring the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and world famous pianist Panayis Lyras marked the final milestone since the project’s planning began two years ago.

  • Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra unveils new sound
  • The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center Auditorium, home to the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra (DSSO), passed muster at its September 29, 2007 season opening. Standing tall after its $1,000,000 renovation, the 2,250-seat hall, boasts a new acoustic shell, new side “cheek” walls, and new acoustic panels above the stage and musicians.

  • Cyprus Performing Arts Centre awarded to acoustics consultants Kirkegaard Associates
  • The Cyprus Cultural Foundation recently announced that London-based British architectural firm Hopkins Architects has been selected to design a new performing arts center in its capital city of Nicosia. Chosen from sixty (60) entries from sixteen (16) countries, Hopkins Architects will be joined by Chicago-based acoustics consulting firm Kirkegaard Associates.

  • Kirkegaard Associates completes two-year renovation at Utah’s Salt Lake Tabernacle
  • Built in 1867 in Salt Lake City, Utah and perceived as one of the greatest engineering achievements at that time, the Salt Lake Tabernacle recently re-opened its doors after two years of extensive renovation. Located on Temple Square, the Tabernacle is home to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and is a central symbol for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
