The building offers nine dance studios, ranging in size from 1800 sf to 3600 sf including flexible 140 seat performance space along with new administration area. Ballet's size increased by more than 60% compared to their previous building. As the official school of Cincinnati Ballet, the Otto M. Budig Academy offers signature ballet training, and a wide variety of dance styles such as Modern Dance and Hip Hop, adult dance and fitness programs, and community performances and events. Dance studios are equipped with a double-track system that will allow people with mobility issues to be secured into a harness, enabling them to “dance” while suspended. The major acoustic challenge for the project was providing the right amount of sound isolation between all the dance studios to allow for simultaneous use without disruption while allowing easy access to the spaces and not limiting natural light into the building.
