Kirkegaard worked closely with Partners by Design who was responsible for the design of the exterior architecture while in collaboration with Hendrick, who was the interior architect. Located on a prominent site on the Beltline highway, this location presented challenging design so near passing motorists while still presenting a bold design statement to the surrounding community. The 33,000 sf building contains two production studios for news broadcasts and other television programming, a double height newsroom for reporting staff, and office space for administrative and support staff for the station. The all glass northern facade allows views into the newsroom, while still being acoustically isolated to promote undisturbed news gathering that takes place 24 hours per day.
