Provided guidance in the sealing of the 1920s vintage Akoustilith tile for improved support of organ and choir. The gallery location for the organ and choir made the effect of the absorption of the tile quite dramatic in limiting the reach of the choir and organ sound to the congregation. Congregational singing and musical presentation suffered as a result. Sealing of the tile with several coats of clear sealer increased the reverberation time and dramatically improved the room’s musical experience.
