The new 5 story, permanent BYC at 1023 West Irving Park Road, a long, narrow site fronting on Irving Park near Sheridan Rd. The facility includes behavioral health offices, medical space and administrative offices; classrooms, recreational space and community programming space; and a commercial kitchen. The new building has expanded medical care, social services basic needs offerings, and free meals for Chicago youth. Kirkegaard provided acoustic services related to loudness building up control, speech privacy, background noise and reduction of adjacent Red Line train. Acoustic considerations were made to reflect the spaces intention of being warm, welcoming, and safe atmosphere.
