Opened in 2009, this $130 million expansion created the largest casino in Northwest Indiana. The complex holds a hotel; gaming rooms; convention and exhibition space; dining facilities; and entertainment areas for theatrical and musical productions. Kirkegaard provided room acoustics and noise control consulting services for the hotel portion of the project to determine the proper acoustical environment within the sports bar and music club in order to restrict the intrusion of sound between the two spaces. The sports bar features a Las Vegas "Sports Book" type atmosphere with a bar, restaurant and the televised broadcast of sporting events over the house sound system. The adjacent "It's Vegas Baby!" music club offers small amplified acts performing on the raised platform stage, also playing over the house sound system.
