The renovation of Penn's 25,000 sq ft. music building incorporated restoration of a beautiful 1890 Italianate brick building along with a graceful new addition, modern in nature but proportioned and detailed to complement the historic surroundings. The addition houses four large classrooms, practice rooms, faculty offices, and two specialized music technology rooms, while the older facility incorporates new staff and faculty offices. The facility is fully accessible and has received a LEED Gold Certification. Kirkegaard provided full room acoustics, mechanical noise, and AV systems consulting services.
